Accor ALL Launches Gift Cards For Germany & Earn Bonus Points For Purchases Until December 31, 2020

Accor Live Limitless (ALL) members can now buy gift cards in EUR that are valid at most German hotels (consult the list on Accor’s website).

There is a bonus of 500 points for purchasing a Є100 card and 1,500 points if you splurge for a Є250 one through December 31, 2020.

Currently Hilton Honors members can still earn double elite nights for nights consumed until December 31, 2020 and these bonus nights (2 nights for every 1 consumed) will roll over to 2021.

With Hilton’s announcement to cut requirements for Elite status re-/qualification by 50% in 2021 I decided in early November that it makes sense to take care of this early on so my Diamond is secure for yet another year.

European countries have started to close their borders from UK arrivals (air, ferry & train) after a more potent mutation of Covid-19 is widely circling in the country.

Netherlands was the first European country to close its border for all passenger flights from the UK, and soon Belgium, Italy, Ireland, and Germany followed, and many more are contemplating. European Union and Schengen-area are planning a group-wide ban.

UPDATE: Accor Reservation Cancellation Covid-19 Policy Now Valid Through February 28, 2021

Accor updated its coronavirus cancellation policy set to expire on January 10, 2021, on December 18.

Accor’s Global Policy is now valid through February 28, 2021. There is no separate policy for stays in Europe like previously.

United Airlines Will Push Boeing 737 MAX Back Into Service Coming February, Taking New Aircraft Deliveries

United Airlines will be next major U.S. carrier to put their fleet of Boeing 737 MAX jets back into service following the recent re-certification of the FAA after a two years grounding of the plane.

The carrier has also taken delivery of new 737 MAX aircraft this month as Boeing is under pressure to offload more than 450 MAX aircraft the company has built since 2019.

Netherlands Bans Passenger Flights From The UK Until January 1, 2021

The UK Prime Minister on Saturday announced a Tier 4 lockdown for Southeast England, including London, that bans all non-essential travel. Mr. Johnson gave a more contagious strain of Covid-19 as one of the reasons for the action.

Now, the Netherlands’ Government has decided to ban all passenger flights from the UK effective immediately until January 1, 2021.

Southeast England Moves To Tier 4 (Includes Luton & Heathrow) – Leisure Travel Banned

The Covid-19 infections are surging around Europe, and several countries have instituted travel bans and lockdowns for the festive year-end season from Christmas to New Year.

Southeast England has been hit with a more transmissible version of the virus. The prime minister has decided to put the area under Tier 4 lockdown, including banning all non-essential travel in the area that includes both Luton and Heathrow Airports.
